Do You Want Fast Reliable Broadband?

If you do then you need to check out the broadband providers on this page!

Before you get into the best broadband deals worldwide and broadband supplier comparisons you need to understand what broadband is.

Internet Broadband is any kind of fast Internet connection and

the main types of broadband connections can be seen further down this page.

I guess you, like me, when you are on the Internet you don't want slow speeds bad connections or poor service. You just want to hook up and go.

There are many many providers who want to take your money but before rushing in to what seems like the cheapest deal you need to think about how you will be using your broadband service.

For example, when looking at 'so called'  free Internet broadband deals you need to ask is there is a download limit? Sometimes called a Broadband usage allowance.

How high is this limit ?

A 1Gb broadband usage allowance would allow you to view over 10,000 web pages a month or if you were buying songs to download that would be around 200 music files.

If you’re into films one film could use 1gb.

Remember that many broadband suppliers offer special deals and low rates per month but make their money on excessive usage charges when people exceed their low monthly allowance.

There are also broadband deals with bundled packages available with phone calls and line rental included.

Depending on your broadband usage, these are well worth looking at to compare the broadband service.

So have a good look around at your broadband deals and options.

Various Broadband services available.

ADSL Broadband

ADSL stands for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line.ADSL broadband is delivered through your existing telephone line, using a special modem or router. There is no need to have an additional telephone line installed and you will be still be able to make and receive calls whilst surfing the web. You’ll need to fit small devices called micro filters to all your telephone sockets to prevent the ADSL signal from interfering with your voice calls.

Cable Broadband

Internet connection requires a special modem, which is connected to your cable along with your cable TV box (if you have one). Most cable companies offer packages that include telephone and TV channels as well as a broadband Internet connection.

Wireless Broadband

Internet connection, a small antenna is installed on the outside of your house (much like a TV aerial) and this sends signals to a connection point on the inside, which in turn is connected to your computer. No telephone line of any kind is required for this broadband connection.

SDSL Broadband

connection (Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line)is very similar to an ADSL connection. The difference is that ADSL can download data from the Internet faster than it can upload data, while SDSL is just as fast at uploading as downloading. SDSL requires an extra telephone line, separate from the one you use for voice calls, SDSL is not a popular option for the home user. SDSL is really just a specialist broadband option for some businesses that need to send large amounts of data via broadband.

LLU Broadband

(local loop unbundling) is a process in which some broadband service providers can offer an ADSL or SDSL service at more competitive prices and with more features.

Broadband Speed

Many people ask the question … How fast is the broadband connection? ... 56k?...256K?..512?... 1.5mb? 8mb?

How does the broadband service compare?

What do the numbers mean? ....

What speed do I need for best broadband UK?

A 512K broadband Internet connection is around ten times faster than a 56K dial-up Internet connection.

With a 512K Broadband connection the time to load a web page is 1.6 sec.

With a 56K dial-up it would be 14 secs.

When it comes to music, video, animations and games the broadband difference is more noticeable.

1 min 30 sec to download a 5min music file mp3 with 512k broadband …

or over 12 mins with 56k dial-up.

Then as your broadband speed doubles your download time more or less halves.

When you get up to 6 megabits per second your broadband downloads are more or less instantaneous.

So be sure you are getting what you are paying for.

Have a look at various providers to see what deals are available for you.

It is only by comparing that you know whether you have a good deal or not.

Don't just rely on some salesman telling you his company is the best.

It might not be!
